20 Months of Waiting

Today marks 20 months of waiting on the list to be matched with our little one. I found it fitting to post the Number 20 with bugs all over it because here in VA we are inundated with stink bugs and my windows and doors are covered in them! Thankfully life in this adoption waiting process doesn't stink like these bugs and God continues to encourage us during this process.  We are so blessed at our new church to have so many awesome brothers and sisters in Christ praying and encouraging us through this process. Just last night at small group, a dear friend opened her bible and showed me a prayer card that I had written on last spring requesting prayer for our baby in Africa.  She shared with me that she prays for our sweet Baby Africa everyday! My eyes immediately filled with tears at her gueniune care for our baby that is an orphan.  Sometimes this journey can be such a lonely one and yet something as simple as that encourages me and blesses my heart more than you know! Most people forget that before we even meet our child they will have to go through some sort of tradegy or hardship in its life to become an orphan.  Somedays my Spirit is totally grieved over that and that I don't know when it will happen or if it has already happened.  So knowing that our child is being covered in prayer and lifted up to the Lord Most High is such a comforting thing for a mommy whose heart is half way around the globe with a child she has never met.  This past Wednesday morning (9-26-12) I was wide awake and couldn't sleep at 3:30am (1130am Ethiopian time) and God laid on my heart the urgent need to pray for our little one and all the families that are involved and waiting on their children. My heart wonders if something major was happening with our little one, was it coming to the orphanage, being separated from its mother or was the Ethiopian government making a big decision in regards to adoption ? ?  The list could go on and on but God let me fall asleep after an hour with peace that he is Soverign over it all.    So please know that if you are praying for our little one, we APPRECIATE it more than you know and are SO GRATEFUL that our child is being covered in prayer!! I leave you with the peace that I have that the Soverign Lord has got it all under control.  Praise be to Jesus!
