So its 06-10-10 and our formal application isn’t done. However we have been working hard and getting a little accomplished each day! Today Jared and I met at LUPD to get our fingerprints done. The officer told me that I failed my fingerprints and that I needed to condition my hands and return sometime soon to have them redone. He said that most healthcare providers fail because our hands stay so dry. He told me to go to Wal-Mart and buy Corn Huskers Lotion and hopefully I would pass next time. I was really bummed bc that means that our formal application will not be done anytime soon!!!!!!
The police officer wanted to know what we were getting them done for and Jared was able to share with him a quick and brief recap on this journey from the Lord!! When we were walking out of the building we walked by a cubical and posted was a verse from Isaiah. Jared and I just grinned at one another knowing that it was just a sweet and simple reminder to us that we are on HIS journey. How comforting!
“For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13
I was also able to meet with a lady and finish out the insurance aspect of the formal application and I was able to share about Gods vision for us in this journey. Everyone is so curious and God keeps giving us opportunities to say and proclaim HIS NAME!!
At 4pm tonight our case worker came and met with us about for our 2nd stage in the home study process. We had a long three hour meeting but made great progress in paperwork and understanding what the next 1-2 yrs will look like in this process. She informed us that we were some of the youngest clients that she had ever had and that she loved seeing what great things the Lord is doing!! She shared that we had received positive recommendation letters too! She gave us lots of “typical time frames” to keep in the back of our minds but Jared and I know that it will be in the Lords timing. So time will tell……. We are going to continue to work hard on getting our formal application turned in and trusting and anticipating that God is going to provide everything in his timing!

We were suppose to get the forms for our formal application notarized today and I was also suppose to get my fingerprints redone. Our plan was to finish all this today and try and mail the application this week. Unfortunately our apt got postponed and my hands are like sand paper after just finishing a long 6 day stretch at work and I knew that I would fail the fingerprints again if I went today so I cancelled that appt too. Obviously God has other plans for when he wants us to mail this application. I would have loved to have finished it in MAY!! But for now I am being patient……. Jared is a lot better at this waiting game than me. I am finally on vacation and hopefully can get some good rest and continue to condition my fingers in the meantime. Hopefully this Corn Huskers Lotion will do it!!! God taught me this verse today and I love how he always knows what I need. :)
"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day." Habakkuk 2:3

I have been praying that throughout this process that God would help me get rid of some of my feasr of things in my life so that I will not unnecessarily instill fear in my child. So today with the help of the Lord I conquered one of those fears and floated in a canoe down the Staunton River with Jared! It was such a blast and so relaxing! I chilled and read my new book called Radical by David Platt while Jared fished. It was a perfect way to spend a summer Saturday!! Praise the Lord for HIM breaking down one of my fears!! I promise I am in the canoe we just didnt get many pictures!
