Jared planned a night away to celebrate my 26th Birthday! We took the parkway to get to the lodge and enjoyed all the gorgeous scenery along the way! What a treat to get away!
When we stopped to take pictures there were these weird bugs flying around (You can see them in the background) Needless to say we snapped a picture and jumped back in the car!

Jared and I went to Wal-Mart really late tonight and we saw a couple in line with 3 children, two of which were of a different race. We both knew right away that we were suppose to talk to them. However we both told each other that if they were still in line when we finished shopping then we would talk to them. As we shopped, we found ourselves talking about their darling family over and over again never dreaming that they would actualy still be in line waiting. When we got in the check out line 30 minutes later we saw that they were still waiting in line!!! As we checked out of our line, Jared and I both knew that we needed to talk to this family. We briefly shared with them that we are in the beginning stages of adopting a baby and wanted to know where their children were from. They had domestically adopted their three children and praised the agency they had used: Bethany Christian Services. The father said, “Take this as your answer, you need to use Bethany Christian Services!” They were so open and we shared a brief story of our journey so far and they shared theirs. We talked with them at the end of the checkout counter and then they prayed for us and for our adoption journey right there in Wal-Mart! It was a awesome talking about what God had done in their lives and how God had given them these 3 beautiful children.
Jared and I got in the car that night and were amazed and encouraged to have had such a wonderful encounter with total strangers. Out of all the agencies in the world, they had used one of the agencies that we have been considering/praying over the past few weeks. We knew that God had totally orchestrated every event that had occurred tonight and we are grateful for the many ways he cotinues to give us answers and encouragement through this process! God never ceases to amaze us! We were so excited to hear so many wonderful things about BCS. We are going to continue to pray which agency to use but we are thinking we might go to their information session this month in Richmond.

Jared got off work early and we traveled to Richmond tonight to learn all about International Adoption services that BCS had to offer. It was a fun "Secret Trip" to Richmond for us. We enjoyed dinner at our favorite place, Panera and then had a great session learning about international adoption. (We continue to pray about when we should share with our family and friends about adopting a baby however we have not felt that it is the right time and for now we are contining to pray for the Lord prepare their hearts to receive our wonderful news!!)
There were supposed to be four other couples at our information session however we were the only ones that showed and we were able to have a one on one session with a soical worker and learn all about Ethiopia. She had just traveled there in November and she was able to answer many questions we had regarding the process, traveling, etc….. Jared and I felt at peace with this agency and what they stood for: Jesus Christ. On the way home we prayed and felt an overwhelming peace about using Bethany Christian Services.

I emailed BCS and told them we would be using their agency for our adoption agency and that we would like a formal application!!!! We found out that last nights session counted as our first step out of four for our home study! We are so excited to have an agency!

We received the formal application from BCS today in the mail! We cant wait to get started!
