At a cookout tonight with our church family we shared our news with more of our friends. We appreciate everyone's excitment for us and their commitment to praying for our sweet child and for us as we continue on this journey. We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family!

We were able to begin working on some of the Dossier today, which is the last and final document before being put on the waiting list for a baby. We are getting close but it could still be a few months before all of these documents are collected.  We are working hard but one document depends on another and somethings are out of our control. We know that Gods timing on this paperwork will be perfect and we are so grateful!!

We got our first “Congratulations on Adoption” card from some of our friends today. It was fun and really sweet of them to send us. We are “pregnant on paper” however I didn’t think that people would actually do “pre pregnancy things” like send a sweet note or offer to do baby showers. Their kind words in the card really meant the world to us.  We feel so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends!!

We received our typed Homestudy today in an email. We just have to fill in some blanks and then hopefully our case worker can finish it and hopefully we will then be approved and can move along. It's going to take a few weeks to gather the information and letters that she needs. We are getting there one baby step at a time……..

Our new birth certificates arrived and I dropped off our medical forms at the doctors office!  We are collecting information for the rest of the homestudy and as soon as we can get those pieces to BCS, we will finally be able to send the home study to USCIS and wait on our fingerprinting appointment. We are praying hard that God will continue to pave the way on this journey and that HE will be glorified on this journey.  We are looking forward to the day when we will be loving on our sweet baby and there will be no paperwork involved.  :)  But for now we are pressing on and know that God has a beautiful and precious son or daughter waiting for us in Ethiopia!!!!!!  We cant wait to meet our little one! :)

Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

I shared with the girls at work this AM about our adoption.  So word is out in the BC…..   :)
We also wrote our email and sent it to all of our friends and extended family. Right away we had messages of joy and excitement in our inbox. What blessing to be embraced by so much love! God has written such a beautiful story thus far to share! Praise the Lord for who HE is and what HE is doing!

The emails and facebook messages continue to fill our inbox. :)  We are being embraced in a way that we never dreamed would happen.  THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of you that are praying for this journey and for our sweet baby in Ethiopia! When you pray for our child, Please remember to pray for the 147 million orphans that are in the world.

I had lunch today with a friend at the Olive Garden. We were enjoying our lunch and my friend asked me to share a few details regarding the process. So I answered her questions and after about 10 minutes of conversation regarding adoption a lady seated behind my friend stood up and said, “I’m sorry to interrupt you all and I want you to know that I don’t normally do things like this but I felt God tell me that I needed to talk to you and tell you about my niece that recently adopted from Ethiopia!” She was a dear and sweet lady who proceeded to sit down in the booth with me and tell me about what a blessing that sweet baby girl had been to their family and how the Lord equipped her niece for every part of the journey to and from Ethiopia! It was such a wonderful encouragement for me to hear positive things but also to see how God continues to put people in our path as confirmations and encouragers. I was so glad that she sat in our booth and shared about their family. What an awesome God ordained and exciting moment for me to learn more about how a family can be impacted by adoption.

Today we received our HOMESTUDY in the mail!!! God continues to provide and we are so thankful!!!!!! We are getting closer everyday to meeting our precious child.
