Together Called

The last weekend in February, Jared and I had the awesome privilege to go to the Together Called conference in Lancaster PA.  I know I am crazy behind in posting about this amazing conference but it was such a great trip that we don't want to forget about! It was a weekend filled with joy and excitement because we had just that week found out about our precious son! Most importantly though it was a weekend where we got poured into and got to filled up on Jesus and his amazing Word! It was restful, encouraging and totally worth the 6 hour car trip to PA! We hope to make this a yearly tradition of a "get away" and also a time to connect with other families that have adopted and love Jesus.  It was overall an amazing trip and we talk about it being in the top 5 vacations that we have ever taken together! The Sparrow Fund http://www.sparrow-fund.org is who put on the conference and the main speakers for the weekend, Nate and Sarah Hagerty, were so encouraging and really love Jesus and live out his word. We felt like they really spurred us on like the verse says to do in Hebrews 10:24 that says, "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds."  It was a weekend we will never forget! On our way to PA, we stopped by to see my brother, sister in law and my precious nephew and niece  Tank and Tapanga! We had so much fun playing with the kids!!

Of course we had to stop at one of the many rivers we crossed along the way! It was freezing and Jared didn't have a fishing pole in the car so we didn't stay long!

On Friday before the conference we had a few hours for sight seeing and enjoyed the beautiful Amish country culture and some awesome homemade Amish food.  We saw lots of Amish horse and buggies and saw cute amish kids walking home from school and young boys tending to their farms.  They work so hard in this part of the country to help provide for their families!
