A Step in the Right Direction

June 18, 2012

Today we received in the mail a confirmation that our paperwork for the USCIS had been received and that hopefully we will be given a date to travel to WV within 10-14 business days. Im just praying that it wont be while we are at the beach. C, our social worker called today too and for a brief second I got excited and thought could this be THE CALL??   Its Monday and Jared and I just happen to be off together and most referrals are given on Mondays…… The excitement lasted just a minute until C  informed us that we don’t need to start on our dossier yet and that BCS main headquarters will let us know when we need to do that. She said it will probably be a while. I am actually thrilled to not have to start that process again……Yet.

Tonight Jared had someone ask him on the phone, “Since this process is taking so long, why don’t you just have one of your own??” We have been hearing this comment a lot lately and people asking us why we aren’t switching countries or programs or just getting pregnant while we wait, etc. Honestly, its frustrating that people say comments like that. First off, our child from Ethiopia will be our own and second, we are adopting a child because God has asked us to and we are being obedient to his command.   Chirst waited a LONG TIME on me to finally accept him and be adopted into his family and he paid a much BIGGER price by giving his one and only son for us. Our fees, time and energy and patience of waiting is nothing in comparison with what God has had to endure to get me and so many others into his book of life. To us its all worth it and what a beautiful and wonderful picture of what God did for us that he is displaying in our lives as we adopt a child from Ethiopia.  We wouldn’t have it any other way. We feel so blessed!!!
