Easter Weekend Jared and enjoyed a wonderful weekend away together at Douthat State Park. We had more rainy days than sunny ones, but we enjoyed some good food, God's beautiful scenery, hiking, fishing and of course being together. :) Here are some pictures from our trip.....
Jared loved fishing even if it was raining!
Dozer loved playing in the water!
Jared fishing....Dozer patiently awaiting Jared to finish so he can swim!
April 28th marked our 3rd month of being on the adoption waiting list.
Jesus continues to give us patience in this process and for that we are so grateful. Our prayer is that everyone reading this will join us in praying for all the orphans all over the world but espeically for the orphans in Ethiopia.
Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless. Isaiah 1:17
Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
Psalm 82:3
Gods word always bring such peace to my heart when I become consumed with the orphan crisis and so badly want to go pick up our child and love on all those precious children....
But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless. Psalm 10:14
On May 7th, Jared, along with some family and some of our small group members, ran in "Run for their Lives" in Charlottesville, VA. Run For their Lives was started in Lynchburg, and raises awareness for a ministry called Freedom 424.
Freedom 4/24's mission is to provide a pathway to freedom for the sexually exploited. As a non-profit organization, Freedom 4/24 exists to raise awareness of the rampant sexual exploitation of women around the world, and specifically in Southeast Asia, while raising money to support Christ-centered ministries that seek to rescue women enslaved in the sex industry. You should totally check their website out http://www.freedom424.org/ and watch their story below.
The name of a young woman/girl we were running for was written on our arm.
