5k Walk for Gulu,Uganda

This past weekend Emilee and I participated in a "Water for Life" 5k Walk at Lynchburg College.
Lynchburg College and Sports Outreach program co hosted this event to raise awareness for the people in war torn regions of northern Uganda as well as raise funds to support public health education and the installation of deep bore water wells that will bring fresh, clean, and safe drinking water to communities in Gulu. Lynchburg College had already had one event on their campus to in honor of Anna Wright '11 who died in a single-vehicle accident last summer, leaving behind grieving friends and teammates at Lynchburg College. She loved the Lord and serving others and so her teammates at Lynchburg College teamed together to raise $15, 000 and then with the help of the community, this  Saturday they rasied another $3,000 which equalled $18, 000 to build wells in Nothern Uganda.

1 Well= $6, 000
1 well= 1, 000+  people served with clean drinking water, ability to return home from internally displaced person camp and increased access to health and education.

"We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Thes 1:3
