Our first post is to share with everyone, who may not already know, what God has been doing in our lives over the past 9 months! Beginning about 3 years ago we had both come to a point in our faith where we desired to know our creator even more. We were tired of the stagnation that existed in our faith and began praying for a closer, more real relationship with Christ. Our sincere desire to know God more has been met with clear and convicting responses from Him for our lives. This shouldn't have surprised us, as it is promised throughout scripture, but it did. The answers to prayer were slow at first, but God has promised us that if we ask it will be given, if we seek we will find. We have seen and felt his Holy Spirit like never before, and are continuing to pursue the stength and guidance that the Spirit provides.
This is a very brief synopsis of the journey of faith we have been on over the last 3 years. Hopefully it will bring you up to speed, and help you to better understand the calling God has put on our hearts over the past 9 months.
Starting in November 2009 God began giving us a burden for the 147 million orphans in the world, and began leading us to adopt one of His precious children. After months of prayer and seeking His direction we are about halfway through the process of adopting a baby from Ethiopia! We are thrilled! Since there is so much uncertainty chronologically in this type of process, we don’t have a specific date when this will come to fruition. We will realistically have a baby in about 6-18 months! We are thrilled to finally be sharing this news with our family and friends, and cherish your prayers throughout the rest of this process!!
Since this process is not one many of us are extremely familiar with, we anticipate many of you may have questions, and we welcome all of them! We have had many questions ourselves, in these 9 months God has been leading us, and it would be silly to assume some of you might not have similar questions.
We are excited to share with you our wonderful news, and what God has been doing in our lives. We are both looking forward to parenthood, and long to meet the son or daughter God has chosen to be a part of our family!
